In this article, let us have a brief description about modelling a shed roof. This vdeo will help you undertsqnd the modelling better.

Model wise description.

  1. Shed roof.

  • For modelling a shed, one could use the polygon for covering the roof area. Use the shortcut key 'P' and draw the shed.

  • Provide the properties of a polygon such as base height, top height, tilt and azimuth angle to match the actual roof.

2. Turbo vent

  • Use a cylinder model by tapping 'C' to draw the turbo vents.

  • You can also copy-paste the model created or use repeat tool by tapping 'R' after copying the required model. Then enter the number of copies needed. You can now create similar models at the definite spacing between them.

  • Visualise the design in a 3D model by double-tapping '3'.

3. Skylights

  • Skylights would be available in small rectangular shapes on shed type of roofs.

  • Use polygon model to create the necessary model by providing required dimensions.

  • Copy and use repeat tool to place the skylights at definite intervals on the shed.

  • Visualise the design in a 3D model by double-tapping '3'.

4. Walkways

  • Another feature that could be modelled for a shed would be the Walkways.

  • One can click and drag the desired walkway on any roof.

  • 'W' is the hotkey for walkway in the design studio.

  • Visualise the design in a 3D model by double-tapping '3'.

One can quickly design a shed roof using The Arka360 Design Studio in minutes efficiently.
