RCC roof site is most common type of roof on which the users design their solar plant. The steps involved in RCC rooftop solar modelling is shown in this video.

The major blocks of creating a design for a RCC site will be,

  • Enter the project details and select the project's location.

  • Draw the building model using polygon.

  • Mark the obstacles on the roof.

  • Select the roof area and add panels.

  • Set the desired PV properties and add inverters accordingly..

  • View in 3D for better understanding of your design.

  • Download/export reports

  1. Create project and select the site location on the map. Also, enter the project details as required in this image. Make sure the image of the site gets fit in the snap provided.

2. On opening the design on TSL studio, using the polygon tool model the roof with parapet and enter their properties. Use Dimension tool for entering accurate dimensions. Azimuth for RCC site is always 180.

3. You can visualize the basic site model by switching into 3D view by double tapping on β€˜3’.

4. Similar to that of step 2, mark the obstacles on the building like tanks, objects using the polygon, cylinder etc. as provided in the model tool. Dimension tool can help placing these obstacles away from parapet.

5. Visualize the building on 3D view for better understanding of the design along with the obstacles.

6. You can select heat map to analyze the shadow pattern so as to design the panel placement. Now, select the roof that needs panel placement and add FILL FACE on it. Gradually, optimize the solar access of the panels by action column of the right side bar.

7. Next, add inverters to the design as required by clicking on + of add inverter option. Also, provisions are available on settings tool on lower left of the design studio to add the losses and all PV layout and roof properties. Mark them as required and save the design.

8. Go back to the design summary page. Here, you can able to download the reports or outcomes from the designed rooftop. Understanding of the reports can be made easier by watching this video (link).

9. You can also share the 3D model along with the shading analysis for a TOD and month by provisions available on the page. The page is available across all platforms like Desktop, Laptop and Mobiles.

By following these simple steps one can easily design a RCC roof within 20 minutes.
