For accurate measurements, the dimension tool plays the best role in designing your rooftop. Let us have a quick walkthrough to find the uses of dimension tools in this video,

Use cases;

  1. Measure the distance between 2 objects.

  2. Place the objects/models on the roof on accurate location on the roof.

  3. Find the spacing between the table

  4. Modify the inter-table distance on both the sides as required

  1. Measure the distance between the objects,

Consider the RCC design on which we will see the uses of the Dimension tool. Choose the tool from the panel layout and start measuring the distance as desired.

For measuring between the 2 objects, select the tool and drag to find the distance between the 2 points as shown below,

2. Place the objects/models on the roof on accurate location on the roof.

Select the distance between the 2 objects to enter the TAB key and provide the required spacing between them. By this, the object gets positioned on the given distance.

3. Find the spacing between the table

Similarly, you can also move the other polygons for a particular distance as,

4. Modify the inter-table distance on both the sides as required

One good feature of the dimension tool is the use of the arrow on them. The arrow with green shows the direction to which an object can be moved.

In this model, the arrow is green toward the southwest and placing the enter key on Dimension tool hte table moves on the same given direction.

Thus, a dimension can be best used to make the accurate measurements of the rooftop projects which are portrayed below,
