Panels are the most integral part of rooftop solar design and can be placed in several ways based on the desired output. The various choices of adding panel layout are,

  • Add Table

Adds individual tables and step-by-step process of creating panels.

  • Fill face

This is an automatic step to add a panel and it covers the entire available roof area that needs panel placement. it is one of the quick ways to add panels on the roof.

  • Add sub-array

Here, we can manually draw a sub-array area where the panels are needed to be in place. this covers a sizable area on the roof and can be done for a full roof area.

NOTE;

Fill Face = this option enables the designer to achieve the maximum panel coverage on the selected rooftop.

Once the panels are added, one can get to see the features of software like Sub-array summary, action, and properties. Through these layouts, one can access panels,

· Count.

· Size and make.

· Solar access %

· Provisions to change Row spacing, Tilt, Azimuth, Mount height, and type of roof to mount panels.

· From the action bar, one can optimize the rooftop by defining the optimum panel size and its relevant solar access as desired.

DELETE PANELS;

For ease of access, there is a Lasso tool, which makes the collective work easier in modeling the designs. It helps to select a group of panels and models so as to delete, drag and move functions.

  • One can select a single table and delete it by right click on that panel or a group of panels.

  • For deleting a single panel, click on that panel and delete it as shown.

TIP;

You can use the 'Delete' key or click delete on the side panel of the software to delete tools.

  • Deleting a group of panels. In this case, one can make use of the LASSO tool effectively to serve the purpose. The Lasso tool enables the selection of an area across the layout so as to select them.

You can again use the delete option to delete them or change their properties as well.
