Stringing feature in Solar Labs allows you to create a detailed design of your project. This feature will allow you to manually draw strings.
The steps to draw manual strings are listed below:
Let us see the steps one-by-one:
Step 1: Create a model.
Step 2: Place the modules using Fill face or Add subarray option.
Step 3: On the right hand side of the screen, subarray properties will appear. Click on DC Components to view/update subarray properties.
Step 4: Click on AC Components to add Inverter and DCDB.
Step 5: Click on '+' to add Inverter and select the Inverter of your own choice.
Step 6: Turn ON DCDB to add DCDB.
Step 7: Select 'Add' option to add Inverter and DCDB.
Step 8: Now, the Inverter has been placed along one of the edge of the building.
Step 9: Select the inverter on which you want to draw the manual string. On selection of the inverter, the inverter properties shall be visible.
Step 10: Click on DC Cable properties to change the cable type as well as cable cross-section.
Step 11: Select String Range to view the suggested minimum and maximum string length.
Step 12: Click on MPPT to add strings. Under each MPPT section there is ADD string option available.
Step 13: Once you click on ADD string, you can start selecting the modules to create a string.
Step 14: For module selection, you will be required to select the first module you want to select in the string using Left click on the mouse.
Step 15: Keep the Left-click pressed and hover slowly over the modules which you want to select as part of the string. On hovering the modules get selected and the color changes so that you know, which modules has been selected and you can move ahead with other modules selection. The numbering on the module also increases as you continue to hover over the modules. So that you know number of modules that has already been added in the string.
NOTE: The color for the strings will keep changing even while the selection of the modules is in process.
Red Color: The entire string length will become red if the string length does not adhere to the rules of stringing. i.e. If the no. of modules selected is less then minimum string length or greater then maximum string length.
Green Color: The entire string length will become green if the string length adheres to the rules of stringing.
Step 16: Follow the steps as mentioned above in step 14 & 15 to continue with drawing strings.
Step 17: Click on complete once you have created your desire strings.
Deselecting The Module:
If you have the left-click pressed, then hover back to the previous modules. The modules will be deselected.
OR
If you have stopped pressing the left-click button but you still have the string selected, then in this case you can deselect the modules by pressing the βShiftβ key and clicking on the modules you want to deselect.
