Partial home backup ensures that all the appliances that are necessary to run even if it is not powered by grid or solar must not stop i.e. essential appliances stay powered during outages. Partial home backup allows you to customize which appliances to back up based on their usage and importance.
Step 1. Let's get started by choosing the goal of adding storage as providing backup for essential appliances. Click on 'Partial Home Backup' option under battery section.
Step 2. When you select partial home backup, a default list of essential appliances will appear. This list includes common items like refrigerators, lights etc. These are a list of default common appliances. You can turn on/off the toggle to add or remove the appliance from the appliances of essentials. The consumption of these appliances is summed up for the backup calculation.
Step 3. You can add more appliances or edit the existing ones to match your specific needs. To Edit the existing appliances click on edit icon beside individual appliances. This will open a pop up consisting of Quantity, Operating Power and Daily usage. Edit the field and click on 'Update' button to update the new values.
Step 4. To add new appliance click on 'Add appliance'.
Step 5. In the Add appliances popup, you can select from a list of appliances. By clicking on the check icon.
Step 6. If you are unable to find the appliance that you want to add, you can add your own new appliance by clicking on the 'Add New Appliances' button.
Enter the details such as operating power, daily usage, and quantity for new appliance.
Step 7. Click on 'Add' to add the new appliance in the list.
Step 8. The updated list of appliances will be displayed under New Appliances section. Here, you can further edit the operating power, daily usage, and quantity.
Arka360 will use the information provided to calculate the backup duration based on the total consumption of the selected appliances. This ensures that your essential appliances remain powered for as long as possible during an outage.
Step 9. Close the appliance pop up and Click on 'Next' in partial home back up pop up.
Step 10. Choose battery manufacturer and model from the list. If the battery that you want to add is not present in the list, contact the customer support team with the datasheet of the required battery. They will get it added.
Step 11. It is preferred to add a slight bigger battery or equivalent in size of the required capacity to offset peak hours. If you add battery capacity less then the required then you'll get a note stating that you won't be able to fulfill your backup. You can click on '+' icon to add a battery of different capacity. For adding the battery capacity of same size you can increase the quantity.
Step 12. Click on calculate Backup Duration. It will calculate all values in the cards.
Step 13. Click on 'Save' button to get the battery added in the design.
