Adding Consumption Data Using Utility API

This article helps the user understand how to add consumption information of a user by using the Utility API service

  • Inside the Project Info tab and consumption section, you will see the options to add the Utility rate and create a consumption profile for the lead.

  • The 4th option in the list is Utility API which the user can use to add consumption information of a user by using Utility API.

  • On clicking on Spreadsheet interval data you will be taken to the Consumption profile page of the lead.

  • Enter the email address of the lead that is linked to his/her Utility Provider and request access.

  • A mail will be sent to the User with a form to provide authentication and access to his/her Utility data.

  • Click on access only after the user has given permission to access his/her Utility data. If you do it prior, you will see the following error message.

  • This is how the mail will look like, with a link for the user redirecting him to Utility API to enter their credentials and provide access.

  • On clicking on "Visit form" in the Mail, the customer will be redirected to Utility API, where the customer needs to enter his/her email Id and select the Utility.

  • Post the utility selection, Utility API then provides multiple ways to login into the Utility providers website

  • Once the user provides the account details of his/her account, the following screen will be shown to them with the details of all the data that will be shared with ARKA.

  • The user can configure what all details to provide access to

    • Under "Access your account details, energy usage and bills" by clicking on the edit they can see the data categories list and and unselect the checkboxes next to each data category to not provide access to data in a particular data category.

    • they can check all the data that is inside each category by clicking on the "i" button next to the name of the data category.

  • Under historical and Ongoing data the customer can configure the time span of historical and Ongoing data.

  • Under "For all of your services" the user can choose to select specific service or all his services if he is using multiple services.

  • Once the user gives the authorization a recipt is generated for the user.

  • You can visualize the consumption of the user on an hour level not only at an overall year but also for individual seasons on a weekday and weekend.

  • On scrolling down you can also see the average monthly and year long consumption broken down by months.

  • In the Future profile section, you can further add heavy appliances to see the increase in consumption (Check the future profile article for a detailed understanding of how to use)
