How to Configure and Add Adders and Discounts in Your Design

In this tutorial, we'll guide you through the steps to configure and add adders and discounts for a residential design. Let's dive in!

1. Accessing the Pricing and Financing Section

  1. Locate the Section:

    • Open your design and scroll down to the Pricing and Financing section.

  2. Base Price Example:

    • A base price is already added to this design here.


2. Adding Adders and Discounts

Using Pre-Configured Options:

  1. Select Adders or Discounts:

    • Navigate to the Adders and Discounts column within the Pricing and Financing section.

    • Select from the list of pre-configured adders and discounts added during onboarding.

Managing Adders and Discounts:

  1. Access Management Options:

    • If your organization doesn’t have pre-configured adders or discounts, click Manage Adders.

    • This will open the Project Adders and Discounts page, also accessible from Settings > Adders and Discounts.

    • If the page is inaccessible, contact your admin for permissions.


3. Creating New Adders and Discounts

Steps to Create a New Adder:

  1. Click on 'New' > 'Adder':

    • Provide a name and set the default amount.

    • Define the Rate Type from the following options:

      • Flat Rate: A fixed amount.

      • Per Panel: Multiplies the rate by the number of panels in the system.

      • Per Watt: Multiplies the rate by the system size in watts.

      • Percentage of System Cost: A percentage of the total system cost.

      • Per Square Foot: Multiplies the rate by the area covered by panels. Options include:

        • Roof areas with panels.

        • Roof faces underneath the arrays.

        • All roof faces with solar panels.

      • Per Feet: Applies the rate to the entire roof area.

Additional Configuration Options:

  • Edit Permissions: Allow or restrict users from editing the adder.

  • Quantity Editability: Enable users to adjust the quantity of the adder.

  • Show in Proposal: Choose whether to display the adder as a line item in the proposal.

  • Eligibility for Incentives: Enable or disable the incentive toggle.


4. Example: Adding a Flat-Rate Adder

  1. Define the Rate:

    • Set a flat-rate adder of ₹10,000.

  2. Apply the Adder:

    • Once configured, the adder will appear in the dropdown list under Pricing and Financing.

    • Select the adder and add it to your design.
